Prayer: Withstanding the Test of Time

NBA has withstood the test of time and trials of life over and over. Our organization has bravely faced two wars, shortages of all kinds, and drastic social and economic changes. Imagine that you are one of the NBA Home superintendents during WW II. You have so many mouths to feed and needs to meet with little resources to draw from; you watch loved ones and friends alike go off to war not knowing whether they will be back. All around you is darkness. Where would you find hope in these dark times? How would you keep your faith and that of others alive when everything is hanging in the balance? Where would you find joy and share it with others?

Prayer:

God, You lavish us with strength and power. This is reflected in the rich history of this organization. NBA has withstood the test of time only by your grace and provision. We ask that as you empower us through your Spirit, you help us to grow closer as one community. Intertwine our roots and help us flourish as we continue to answer your call to care for all of your children. Now to you who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to your power that is at work within us, inspire us, enlighten us, open our hearts and minds, help us to receive your help and presence as we continue to follow your lead. Amen.
